While searchin g for his mi ssing fathe r, Kit Tay lor finds an Advent Deck - a special car d deck tha t allows the carrier to transform int o a Kamen Rider and utilize unique weapons and powers - a nd uses it t o become Kamen Rider Dra gon Knigh t. He butts heads with Len , who serv es as Kamen Rider Wing Knight, but the pair join forces aft er Kit le arns that the wi cked Gener al Xaviax ha s impri soned his father and is using him and the other human s that his monste rs abduct to gain power and rebu ild his ho meworld. Later on Kase, a fellow survivor o f Ventara like Len, w ould join f orces wi th Len and Kit to fight Xav iax. I n addition to training Kit to fight like a Rider, Len and Kase tell Ki t all about the twelve Riders who banded together as the protectors of Venta ra - a world opposite to our own - to take Xaviax down. However, du e to th e traitorous actions of Kit's predecessor, Ad am, General Xaviax destroyed most of the Rider s via a process called Vent ing - which tra ps defea ted Riders in the "Advent Void" bet ween dimens ions forever - and stole th eir Advent Decks.
