While sear ching for his missing fat her, Kit Taylor finds an Advent Deck - a special card d eck that allows the ca rrier to transform into a Kamen Rider and utilize unique weapons and powers - and u ses it to become Kamen Rider Dragon Knight. He butts h eads with Len, who se rves as Kamen Rider Wing Knight, but the pair join forces afte r Kit learn s that t he wicked General Xavia x has impris oned hi s father and is using him and the other humans that his monsters abd uct to gain power and rebuild his homeworld. Later on Kase, a fellow survivor of Ventara like Len, woul d join forces with Len and Ki t to fight Xa viax. In addition to tr aining Kit to fight like a Rider, Len and Kase tell Kit all about the tw elve Rid ers who banded together as t he protect ors of Ven tara - a world op posite to our own - to take Xaviax down. However, du e to th e traitorou s acti ons of Kit's predecessor , Adam, General Xavi ax destroyed mos t of the Riders via a process called Ventin g - whic h traps defe ated Riders in th e "Advent Void" betw een dimensions forever - and stole their Adv ent Decks.
