While searc hing for his missing father, Kit Taylor finds an Advent D eck - a special card deck th at allows the carrier to transform into a Kamen Rider and utilize unique weapons and powers - and uses it to become Kamen Rider Dragon Knight. He butts heads with Len , who serv es as Kame n Rider Wing Knight, but the pair join forces after Kit learns that t he wicked General Xaviax has imprisoned his fathe r and is using him and the other humans th at his monster s abduct to gain pow er and r ebuild hi s homeworld. Later on Kase, a fell ow survivor of Ventara like Len, would join forc es with Len and Kit to fight Xaviax. In addition to training Kit to fight like a Rider , Len and Kase tell K it all a bout the twelve Ri ders who banded togethe r as the protec tors of Ventara - a world opposite to our own - to tak e Xaviax dow n. However, due to the trait orous actions of Kit's pr edecessor , Ada m, Gen eral Xaviax destroyed most of t he Riders via a process called Venting - which traps defeated Ride rs in the "Advent Void" between d imensions f orever - and stole their Advent Decks.
