While s earching f or his miss ing father, Kit Taylor finds an Advent De ck - a special card dec k that allows the carrier to transfor m into a K amen Rider a nd utiliz e un ique weapons an d powers - and uses it to become Kamen Rider D ragon Knight. He but ts heads wit h Len, who serves as Kamen Rider Wing Knigh t, but th e pair joi n forces a fter Kit learn s that the wicked General Xaviax has imprisoned his father and is usi ng him a nd the other humans that his mons ters abduct to gain pow er and rebuild his homeworld. Later on Kase, a fellow sur vivor of Ven tara like Len, would joi n forces wit h Len and Kit to fig ht Xaviax. In addi tion t o training Kit to fight like a Rider, Len a nd Kase tell Kit all about the twe lve R iders wh o banded to gether as the prote ctors of Ventara - a world opp osite to our own - to take Xaviax down. However, due to the tra itorous actions o f Kit's predece ssor, Adam, Gener al Xavia x destr oyed most of t he Rid ers via a pro cess called V enting - which traps defeated Riders in the &qu ot;Advent Void" between dimensions forever - and stole their Advent Decks.
