They are passionate ab out the c haracters, the plot lines and t he storytel ling. We owe a hug e debt of gratitu de to the gifted production team and the cast, le d by the extraordinar y Mark Harmo n. We ar e deligh ted that the show will rem ain a linchpin of t he CBS schedule this comin g season.” In its current seaso n, “NCIS” has b een averaging 12.2 million vi ewers in th e liv e same day ra tings , making it TV’s second-m ost-watched scripted s eries, b ehind only “The Big B ang Theory.” It has remained a strong performer for CBS, in both its ratings a nd viewership numbers, and was wide ly c onsid ered to be a strong rene wal contender leading up to the announce ment today.
