The documentary will pr ovide an urgen t look a t the science of climat e chang e and the potential solutions to t his global t hreat, combi ning foota ge that re veals the already devastating i mpact of climate change on our plan et with interviews from some of the world’s leading climate scient ists. After one of the h ottest years on record, climatologis ts an d meteo rologists explain the effects of clim ate c hang e on both the human pop ulation and the natu ral world. Scientists, inclu ding D r James Hansen, Dr Michael Mann and Profe ssor Catherine Mitchell will forensically unp ack the science be hind the e xtreme weather conditions of re cent years, whic h ha ve seen un precedented storms an d catastrophic wildfires ; as well as detailing how the acc elerati ng rate at which th e world’s ice i s melt ing is causing sea level ris es, and how defo restation is exacerbating the problem of global warmi ng by adding to CO2 in the atmosphere. The film will deliver an unflinchi ng explorat ion of what dange rous level s of climate change could me an for human populations, what is likely to happen if globa l warming e xcee ds 1.5 degrees and if ma jor reduc tions in CO2 emissions are not made in the next decade.
