Sir David Attenborough is to present and narrate a n ew lan dmark film, Climate Change The Fac ts for BBC One. The documen tary will provide a n urgent look at the science of climate change and the potential solutions to this global threat, co mbining f ootage that reveals the a lready d evastating impact of climate change on our planet with interv iews from some of the wo rld’s lead ing cl imate scientists. After one of the hottest years on record, climato logists and meteorologists expl ain the effects of c limate ch ange on bo th th e hu man popula tion an d the natural world. Sci entists, including Dr James Hansen, Dr Michae l Mann and Professor Catherine Mitchell will f orensically un pack the s cience behind the extreme weather conditions of recent years, which have seen un precedented storms and catastrophic wildfires; as well as detailing how the accelerat ing rate at which the w orld’s ice is me lting is caus ing sea l evel rise s, and h ow deforestation is exacerbating the pr oblem of global warming by adding to CO2 in the atmo sphere.
