A film adaptation of a p lay made by a high school drama clu b, directed by Yamas hita Nobuhir o of Linda Linda Lind a (2 006). It’s essentially a coming-of -age film about teenagers made by teenagers. Chizuru, who used to be unbeatable in the swi m club i n midd le school ev en a gainst boys, pract ices imaginary swim ming in th e sand-filled pool , while Kokoro, who is seri ous about cu ltivating her feminine charm by diligently appl ying ma keup, doesn’t care about cleaning. With their ow n stories , Miku, who diligently p ractices dance moves typically performed by men , and Yui, who was the sw im club c aptain last year, an d the ot her girls mee t and conv erse on the pool flo or under the summer sun, where unexpected confl icts arise and resol ve in unexpect ed w ays.
