Six teen new hopefuls are ready to take the runwa y by storm and mak e fashion hi story. Host Karlie Kloss is b ack, along with Christian Siriano as the mentor and returning judges Nina Garcia, Br andon M axwell, an d Elain e Welteroth, to decide who has what it takes to make it in this indust ry. Each 90-minute epi sode will featur e the return of some fan-favorite elemen ts, including the “Siri ano Save,” in which Christi an h as the oppor tunity to bring one eliminated desig ner back into the competition, and the pièce de résist ance , a chance to present a fi nal collec tion at N ew York Fa shion Week. Gotham remains a main char acter f or this fashion ad venture for cha llenge reveals and runway shows with iconic locations such a s the famous TWA Hotel at JFK, The Vessel at Hudson Yards, and Ber gdorf Goodman. In addition, the groundbrea king series continues to shi ne a light o n the evolutio n of fash ion and inclusion b y featuring a variety of sex ual pre ference s, racial backgrounds and ages including a nonbi nary model and a trans model, a “Dreamer,” and the oldest designer ever to compete on Project R unway. Cha llenging fa shion norm s, the designers are tasked w ith creating functio nal outfits for Olympians and Para lympians, as well as turning donated garments from Goodwill of NY i nto high fas hion wear. In t he premiere o f Pro ject Runway, the competition begins with some twists right out of the airport gate. With luggage s till in tow , the designers are greeted at the iconic TWA Hotel a t JFK airport ready to take flig ht with their fi rst challenge to create an innovative look insp ired by humanity’s continu ed push into space exploration. In a Runway first, t hese unfamiliar designers have to pair up and collaborate to make cohesive pieces that blow away the jud ges or they a re out.
