John Kent (Rand olph Scott), a former star football player at Harvard, goe s to Paris with his friend Huck Ha ines (Fred Astaire) and the latter's dance band, the Wabash Ind ianians. While there, he meets h er chief assis tant (and sec retly the head d esigner ), Stephanie (Irene D unne). John is quickly smi tten with her. Meanw hile , Huck unexpectedly stumbles upon someone he knows ver y well. Countess Scharwenka, a tem peramental cust omer at R oberta's, turns out to be his hometown sweet heart Lizzie Gatz (Ginger R ogers). She gets Huck's band a n engagement at the nightclub where she is a featured entertainer. Two things t rouble Jo hn.
