Midd le class student Bob Letellier e nters a new wor ld when he meets Ala in, a free-thinking rebel who, along with his group o f young Parisian s, has opted f or a life o f instan t gratification inste ad of work and commitment. At a party, Bob me ets a young woman, Mic , who app ears to b e just as ca refree and cynical a s Alain. Mic' s only d ream is to o wn a luxury car, and with Bo b's help, sh e manages to find the m oney to but it. Mic's f riend Clo discov ers she is pr egnant and, not knowing who t he father i s, she asks Bob to m arry her. When they next meet at a party, Bob and Mic deny that they have any feelin gs for one another - a declaration th at soon leads to tragedy... Marcel Carné is widely regarded as one of the sta ndard bearers of French quality cine ma of the 1930s and 1 940s, responsible for such masterpieces as Quai des brumes (1938 ) and L es Enfants du Paradis (1945). How ironic the n that, in 1958, towar ds the end of his film-making career, he should make a film which dared to portray the attitud es and behaviour of the 1 950s y outh, in a way that effectively ca ptures t he mood a nd sentiment of the time. Les Tricheurs was a hugely controvers ial film, not least beca use of its b latant de piction o f ado lescent f ree-love , and was even banned in some region s of Franc e. It also received some intensely unfavourabl e reviews, most not ably from t he young hotheads on the Cahiers du cinéma su ch as François Truffaut who cited this film as a prime example of the decline of French cinema i nto mediocrity . In spite of all this negat ive pre ss, the film pro ved to be an astonishing com mercial success, attracting five million cinema-go ers, and was awarded the G rand Prix du Cinéma français i n 1958. Whilst Les Tricheurs is not as flawless as Carné's earlier masterpieces, it is non etheless a significant work, hav ing the power to both shock a nd m ove its audience, whilst having grea t entertain ment value. It evok es the mood of its time in a way that f ew French films of this period did , depicting youn g people as plea sure-seeking rebels, rejecting the austerity and discipline of the p revio us gen eration whilst pursuing a life without cares , responsibilities or love. Similarities with Jame s Dean's films of the 1950s (most notably Rebel without a Cause) are app arent, although Carné's treatment of young people is f ar more abs tract - in his film they mer ely symbolise a wo rld that has lost it s way, more or les s victims of po st-war prosperit y. Although the young p eople in Les Tricheurs lac k the authent icity to b e totally credible, the f ilm does make an important, and indeed quite disturbing poin t, about where the perm issive soci ety may be headin g. Muc h of the ple asure of the film is in the performances fro m its four lead actors, J acques Charrier, Pascale Petit, Lau rent T erzieff and Andréa Parisy, although only Terzie ff is really c onvincing in his ro le. Marcel Carné original ly consi dered Alain Del on and Jean- Paul Belmondo for the parts of Bob and Ala in res pectively , before opting fo r Charrier and T erzi eff. As a con solatio n, Carné offered Be lmondo a smaller part in the film - alas too small fo r the actor to be not iced by the publi c. Be lmondo's brea kthrough h ad to wait until the followi ng year whe n he starred in Jea n-Luc Go dard's revol utionary A bout de souffle , a film which offers a very different perspective of the youth generation. 星辰影院为您提供《不安分的年轻人们》完整未删减版免费在线观看。
