Fernando D i Leo's Milan o Calibro 9 is an out-and-out masterpiece of Italian Crime cine ma and, i n my opinion, on e of the most astoni shing crime stor ies ever told. The firs t film in Di Leo's excellen t 'Milieu' tr ilogy, Milan o Calibro 9 was followed by La Mala Ordina (aka. Manhunt, also 1972) and the brilliant Il Boss (1973). The three film s are not connected stor y-wi se, but all three are excellent, and h ighly r ealistic por trayals of organized crime. As far as I am concerned Manhunt is (allthough excellent) slightly inferior to this one and Il Boss wh ich both stand out as a bsolute all-time highlig hts of crime ci nema. Milano Calib ro 9 is t he best of them all, a film that is astoni shing in all aspects, be it the ingenious p lot that, apart from a co mpelling story and clever twists, includes social cri ticism, the performance s, the gr itty atmosp here and suspense o r the bril liant score. I can hardly find the right wor ds to expres s my admirat ion for this mast erpiece which easil y ranks am ong th e grea test Gangst er f licks ever bro ught to screen . G astone Mos chin stars as Ugo Piazz a, a tough a nd elliptical ex-convict who has just been r eleased from prison. Immediately after his release, Ugo is approached by member s of the Milan mob lead by the irascible gan gster Roc co (Mario A dorf), as they s uspect him to b e responsi ble for the disappearance of a large sum of money be longing to thei r boss, a n Amer ican (Lionel Stan der) w ho control s the organiz ed crim e in Milan ... Milano Calib ro 9 i s a f ilm t hat deliver s an asto nish ingly real istic mood of the un derworld lik e hardly ano ther. Th e intri guing storyline go es in hand with in teresting cha ract ers, ra w atmospher e, s uspense and breat htaking action, soc ial criticism and brutal violence. The film is simply stunning f rom the begin ning to the end, which is even intensified by the brilliant score, a c olla boration of the famous com poser Luis Enríqu ez Bacalov and th e Italian Progressive R ock band Osa nna. U go P iazza mus t be one of the most charismatic gangster characters ever in cinema, and Gaston e Moschin was the prefe ct ch oice for the r ole. Moschin delivers a brilliant performance , and the re st of the c ast i s also great. Mario Adorf is irascib le like a rabid dog as the feroc ious ga ngster Rocco, a role that fits hi m like a glo ve. The gre at Lionel S tander fits perf ectly in hi s role of t he Am erican Mafia Don. The two cop characters in the f ilm a re played by two of the gr eatest regula rs of Italian ge nre-cinema, Lui gi Pistilli and Frank Wolff (who com mitted suic ide before the film was relea sed). The ravishing Barbara Bouchet is astonishing an d incre dibly sexy in t he role of U go Piazza's stripper girlfriend. Bouchet is both a stunnin g beauty and an excel lent actress and this is doubtless ly one of her most memorabl e roles. This is a lso a political film and director Di Leo embedded a lot of s ocial c riticism about topic s like corruptio n. This f ilm simply has ev erything on e can possibly desir e in cinema. F ilms like Milano Calibro 9 are the reason why I love cinema . This is an abs olute masterpiece in all re gards and , without exaggera tion, one of the greatest C rime flicks ever m ade! The ingenious op ening sce ne alone is more memorable than most f ilms get in two hours. 星辰影院为您提供《米兰九口径》完整未删减版免费在线观看。
