Set in an underground dungeon inhabite d by bu ndled, ragged human beings, after the nuclear hol ocaust. The story follow s the wa nderings of a hero thr ough the situat ions of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and r escue them while t heir habita t falls apart. Delving deep into the dusty a nd long abandonded vaul ts of b-cin ema in s earch of lost gems always leave s me with a b itte rswe et t aste. On one hand the discovery of une xpected gems where no one would think them possible i s a rewardi ng exp erie nce. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budg et oddities, personal lo ve affairs of di rectors never quite famous and now all b ut forgo tten , have almost forever slipped from memory n a ny case what we have here is a little post-apocalypti c gem from Poland that is rea lly better than it has any right to. The dystopian near f uture of O-BI, O-B A finds a g roup of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabi ting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time a s they wai t for the my sterious Ark, an air shi p of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate h oax, carefully d esigned to give hope to the ma lnourished and desperate denizen s of the bunker , while in t he mean time the do me that separates their miserable existence from the nuc lear winter outside is slowly caving in. What first stri ked me about the movie is the design of the bunke r and the depicti on of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, f ilthy and terrible-lookin g penitents, dressed in ra gs and aimle ssly wanderi ng the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. Th e bunker is a ru ndown, seedy pl ace, with brig ht neon li ghts peering from all sides like the eyes of mal ignant beas ts. On one hand it is a sli ghtly 80's d epiction of the dys topi an fu ture bu t the movie never stoops d own to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political sati re with the b leak ou tlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, reli gion and power. The s urvivo rs, for example, are f ed som e kind of f lour dr opping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the foo d superv isor use s books and the Bibl e itself as fi ller for this meagre meal. There are many s uch short symbolic touches, p erhaps not life-cha nging or faith-restor ing, yet playful, clever and inspired. One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of -the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its m odest bu dget with creativity and has genuine artis tic aspirations both from a writi ng and directing perspective. My opinion i s that it should have been fi lmed in bl ack and white inste ad of colour though. The director us es atmospher ic light and shadow to great effect and it wo uld h ave regist ered even better in stark black and white. The blue-g reen neon on the oth er hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gri pe in a n otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places. Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McC arthy) b eing injected with the satire and hum our of DR.STRANGEL OVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it 星辰影院为您提供《等待方舟》完整未删减版免费在线观看。
