This French family film is f illed with action, animals, adventure, an d suspense. The story is tol d from a child's viewpoint. O ne da y, whil e playin g in his secret tree house in th e fores t, 11-year old Antoine spies upon bank robbers s tashing 4 0-milli on f rancs worth of loot. O ne of t he robbe rs is the father of his newest best friend Lisa, a 1 0-year old Canadian v isitor. Not wanting to rat on her father, Antoine instead moves the money to a different spot. Neithe r he, nor Lisa have a lot o f respect for their frequently absent fathers. They f ind adults t o be inherently h ypocritical. Both kids do share a love of animals though. Toget her, they decide to run away to Biarrit z, a resort town, and start spending a little money.
